Can you believe that 2016 is nearly over and we’re about to head into 2017? With that in mind, today’s post is all about the latest bride and groom fashion trends that are going to be huge in Spring. From embroidery to bomber jackets, find out what’s going to be hot next year…
The Brides
Floral detailing and colourful embroidery fashion trends hit the shops in Autumn and they’ve finally made an appearance on the bridal runways. Gowns with 3D floral appliqué make us go weak at the knees and they’re a wonderful way of adding a touch of colour to your bridal look. Embroidery looks gorgeous on wedding gowns – particularly if you want to channel a vintage aisle style.
Plunging necklines are also due to be taking the bridal fashion world by storm in Spring 2017 – especially when it comes to stylish jumpsuits. They add a subtle sexiness to your bridal outfit while still looking ultra-sophisticated and look great at a warehouse wedding or city wedding – why not add a statement necklace for extra impact? If you’re not feeling bold enough to rock a plunging neckline, why not bare just your shoulders with an elegant Bardot neckline?
2017 is the year that brides are going to be rocking leather jackets, bomber jackets and even capes! A chic jacket will not only keep you warm and toasty during the cooler months, it will add an edge to your bridal outfit. We love the idea of personalising your jacket by sewing ‘Bride-to-be’ or your wedding date onto it.
The Grooms
We’ve been swooning over jewel colour palettes this Autumn, so we couldn’t be happier to see them making an appearance when it comes to groomswear. Rich emerald green suits and purple velvet jackets are perfect for the fashion-forward groom. Burgundy suits are also going to be big news next year and this colour can easily be carried off for a smart alternative to a traditional wedding suit. Team luxurious jewel tones with a contrasting bow-tie for a look that is seriously stylish.
You really can’t go wrong with a tweed suit – especially when it’s a three-piece. However, 2017 will see the mix and match trend coming to the groomswear section. Team a tweed jacket with a navy waistcoat and a pair of relaxed chinos. This trend allows you to experiment with colour and fabric combinations – making your wedding day style completely unique and reflective of your personality. It’s time to throw the rules out of the window when it comes to tweed suits!
Braces are a brilliant addition to any groom’s outfit and they’re a super easy way to accessorise. They’re the perfect choice if you want to soften your suit style. Why not wear a smart jacket for the ceremony, but opt for braces in the evening for a more relaxed and informal look? Ask your best men and groomsmen to wear braces too – you’ll get some cool group photographs, trust us!
The predicted bride and groom fashion trends for Spring 2017 are refreshing, chic and oh-so-stylish. What do you think? Will you be taking any of them on?
